Sarah Jayne Lane— Chicago’s Premier Children’s musician!
As one of Chicago’s top children’s entertainers, you’ve seen Sarah all over the city from Navy Pier to Lincoln Park Zoo to the History Museum. You’ve seen her at festivals all across the city and suburbs, at Whole Foods Markets weekly, and at special events all over the Chicagoland area.
Sarah Jayne started playing guitar at seventeen in Branson, Missouri at Silver Dollar City, playing music for adults and children all over the park. As a growing musician and educator, she has worked with adults and children with developmental disabilities in both music and art therapies. In 20003 she moved her own theatre company from Missouri to Chicago, where she continued to play music and act until she had her daughter…when everything changed! All the indie rock she performed turned into a kids song…Instead of “It’s Only Rock and Roll and I Like it” by the Rolling Stones, Sarah sings “It’s Only Broccoli and I like it” Instead of “No Scrubs” by TLC, she sings “No Bugs” Instead of “I think I’m Turning Japanese”, she sings “I’m gonna eat some mac and cheese”. The music is engaging for the children and fun for the adults as well!
Sarah’s background in theatre, music and preschool education, combined with her intimate knowledge of individuals with special needs, makes her the most well rounded kid’s musician in her field.
